# Prior to Reading

A quick collection of things you need before following the book, and getting to understand it.

## Knowledge

Addons are heavily recommended by people who use Skript. When needed, the required addons will be provided.

## A Local Server

Local servers are very useful for quickly demonstrating scripts without having to use a web integrated IDE, and getting away from the antics of some server hosts. This is the natural developer environment you should be working on most of the time.
